Panna & Chhatarpur Districts, Madhya Pradesh

Panna National Park

~220km / 5–6h from Bandhavgarh, often paired with Khajuraho.

Overview

A tiger reintroduction success story

Panna spans Panna and Chhatarpur districts, set along the dramatic Ken river gorge. After losing its tigers to local extinction around 2009, a reintroduction program rebuilt the population, one of India's most cited conservation turnarounds. Often combined with a visit to the Khajuraho temples nearby.
