Home to one of India's highest tiger densities, and the closest park to Vananansh.
Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve is one of India's most visited and most reliable parks for tiger sightings, and the ancestral home of the white tiger lineage. It sits in Umaria district, Madhya Pradesh, and this is the park Vananansh is being built beside.
Zones: Three core zones: Tala (the most popular, best odds of a tiger sighting), Magadhi, and Khitauli (strong for birding, sloth bears, blue bulls), plus three buffer zones (Dhamokhar, Johilla, Panpatha) that stay open year-round.
Best time to visit: October to March for cooler, drier weather; April to June is hotter but often better for sightings as animals stay close to waterholes.
Closed: 1 July to 30 September every year for monsoon, plus Holi, Diwali, and Wednesday afternoons year-round.

We're building Vananansh at the edge of this same forest, a quiet, personally looked-after homestay, not another resort. It isn't open yet, but if you're planning a Bandhavgarh trip, drop your name and number and we'll write to you first.
In the meantime, Anand's own eye for this forest doesn't have to wait for us to open. He puts together thoughtful, personally guided tours and wildlife experiences here in Bandhavgarh and across other wilderness destinations in India, shaped around your dates and what you're hoping to see. Just reach out.
